fired an unidentified projectile into the East Sea late Sunday evening, according to reports from South Korea’s Yonhap News Agency. The Associated Press confirmed the launch.
The South Korean news outlet, citing a South Korean military official, said the projectile could be a test launch for an intercontinental ballistic missile capable of reaching the United States.
Despite international condemnation, North Korea has continued to test medium- and long-range missiles that could one day be capable of carrying a nuclear warhead.
