Adele forced to stop mid-performance after fan collapses from heart attack
The singer - who was performing in Sydney - brought the concert to a halt while paramedics rushed to the fan’s aid.
According to the Mail Online, a 47-year-old woman suffered a cardiac arrest during the gig at the ANZ stadium and was taken to a local hospital in a serious condition.
More than 95,000 fans had to clear a path to allow paramedics to get to the woman, who was apparently sitting near the front.
In a video captured by a fan, Adele can be heard apologising to the crowd before commenting that “someone got hurt or something”.
She can also be heard asking if the person was okay.
Eyewitness Meg Rylance told the Mail Online that she was sitting in the next row from the woman who collapsed.
She said: “She [Adele] stopped the concert and she was like, ‘I’m sorry but someone got hurt and I have to check they’re okay.’
“She actually seemed really tearful.”
Initially, it was thought the woman had suffered some kind of spinal injury, because paramedics had brought a stretcher into the arena with them.
But Ms Rylance said nobody had paid the situation any attention until Adele stopped the show shortly before launching into Rolling In The Deep.
