Coleen and Wayne Rooney ‘to return to Liverpool’ as Manchester United footballer transfers to Everton
And now it seems the football legend could be about to move his family back to his hometown – with reports he is set to transfer to Everton Football Club.
The 31 year old was previously rumoured to be heading to West Ham United after they showed an interest in the player.
However, the Independent reported that Everton have become the star’s preferred destination on a free transfer.
But while Everton manager Ronald Foeman might be able to negotiate a waived transfer fee, the club would need to get close to the striker’s £300,000 a week wages in order to make the move official.
Wayne started his football career at Everton, joining the club when he was just nine years old.
The father of three then left Goodison Park for Manchester United 13 years ago, in a huge £25.6million switch.
Wayne’s transfer news comes just days after wife Coleen opened up about the prospect of having more children.
The couple already have three sons together, Kai, Klay, and Kit.
And speaking to the Mail Online, the 30 year old said that she had gotten used to being the only girl in a household.
"Growing up I had two brothers and then we adopted Rosie," the brunette beauty explained.
