Ed Sheeran reveals he is ‘genuinely pleased’ for Harry Styles as he bumps him off number one spot with Sign Of The Times
And now the 26 year old has spoken out after his hit Shape Of You slid back down to number two.
Taking to Twitter, the performer responded to a message that announced the new change in chart position.
And with the message stating that Ed would be "very happy for his successor" it wasn’t long until the star added his own words to the mix.
"Genuinely am," the singer confirmed to his 18.2 million followers on the site.
Harry released his first solo song Sign Of The Times came out last week on April 7.
Releasing the track on Radio One with Nick Grimshaw, the 23 year old sent fans wild after weeks of excitement.
And featuring a complete change from the star’s days in One Direction, the hit soon started climbing the music charts.
"Thanks for having me. Love you. H," the performer told his fans on Twitter.
And now that the track has been confirmed as number one, it seems Ed isn’t the only singing Harry’s praises online.
"You deserve the happiness, you deserve the love and the world," gushed one person online.
