Harry Styles’ mum Anne Twist praises singer for caring for grandfather suffering from Parkinson’s disease while launching solo career – and admits doubt over whether One Direction will ever get back together
However, on top of conquering the charts, Anne Twist said that her son Harry Styles has been helping to care for his ill grandfather, who is suffering from Parkinson’s disease.
Speaking to The Sun, Anne revealed that Harry has been "absolutely brilliant" with her father and his grandad Brian Selley, who has had the disease for several years.
Referring to Harry and his older sister Gemma, proud mum Anne said: "They have been absolutely brilliant. They love him to death and he is so proud of them."
Harry’s debut solo song Sign of the Times has received widespread praise, and Anne is also a fan.
Talking about the album, 47-year-old Anne said: "I loved it. I loved it. It’s brilliant. It made me cry."
"It’s all good and it’s just a little step forward for him."
"He has been working really hard so obviously I haven’t seen a massive amount of him but a bit more than before."
"It’s been nice being able to spend a bit of quality time with him now and again."
Harry’s solo career comes after his hit band One Direction took a hiatus at the end of 2015, but Anne spilled that she is unsure if Harry and his bandmates – Liam Payne, Niall Horan and Louis Tomlinson – will reunite.
While Niall and Louis have also established solo careers, Liam and Louis have become fathers to sons.
