Katie Price’s son Harvey’s Twitter troll let off with a caution following arrest in February for insulting the 14-year-old who is partially blind, autistic and has Prader-Willi syndrome
The 19-year-old male found himself in trouble with the law after he used Twitter to target 14-year-old Harvey Price, who is partially blind, autistic and has Prader-Willi syndrome.
A Sussex Police spokesman said: "A 19-year-old man from Newick, Sussex, arrested on suspicion of racially or religiously aggravated harassment, alarm or distress by words or writing, has been given a caution in connection with offensive social media posts targeting Katie Price’s son."
The police involvement with Harvey’s bullies comes after Katie Price began her quest for an end to be put to online bullying for good by launching a Government petition.
The star wants the Government to take action to put an end to bullying online once and for all by making online bullying a criminal offence and for those found guilty to be placed on a register.
Harvey has long been the victim of vile online trolling – being targeted because of his disability.
After not seeing any progress on bringing the trolls to justice, Katie and her mother Amy decided to set up an online petition to help make a difference and stand up for those being bullied.
The mum-of-five recently celebrated reaching 200,000 signatures on the petition.
Speaking on ITV’s Loose Women recently, model and businesswoman Katie said creating an official list of trolls could help act as a deterrent as featuring on the list could affect people’s job prospects.
She said: "The police don’t know what to do with them. They don’t know how to punish them or a consequence. There are always a lot of people who have bullied people and stuff, but when it’s really bad, there should be action taken."
She told the Loose Women: "You need 10,000 for the government to look at it and 100,000 for Parliament to take it into a debate.
