The One Direction hunk, who welcomed baby Bear Payne with his gorgeous other half back in March, has revealed he WON’T be walking the Girls Aloud beauty down the aisle anytime soon – despite referring to her as his "wife" just days before.

Speaking to The Sun, the One Direction star admitted: "I see marriage as more of a religious thing and I’m not really a religious person, so I know it’s not really on the cards for me at the moment."

However, he did reveal that his love for Cheryl far surpasses any need for a marriage certificate.

"So no not yet," he added. "We have a baby together — you know our love for each other can’t be more serious so it is what it is I guess."

The dad-of-one also revealed that he was missing his little boy while he was away in America, as he focuses on his solo career.

When asked about baby Bear Payne, he said: "Bear is beautiful, I love him and miss him terribly. I can’t talk about him too much as it makes me said, I miss him a lot.

"It’s hard being away from your newborn son but I understand that this is something that I have to do and I want to do."

Liam is launching his solo career, releasing his debut single Strip That Down – and co-written by Ed Sheeran.

Recently, the singer hinted he may have already married Cheryl during an interview live on air.
