After months of silence from the singer, he has now started opening up about his professional and private life in a series of interviews ahead of releasing his single.

Naturally, he has also been speaking about his rumoured wife Cheryl, who gave birth to the couple's first child on March 22.

The couple have been notoriously private in the past, however Liam has made headlines with some of his comments regarding the former X Factor judge.

Last year, Liam Ė who recently dissed One Direction bandmate Harry Styles' solo efforts Ė hit out at Louis Walsh after the Irish music manager appeared to make a dig at Cheryl.

Admitting he doesn't regret the scathing Twitter attack, Liam explained to The Sun: "You can't have someone talking trash about your Mrs.

"It is what it is Ė they have to be very careful when they speak about her. I have every right to. It was chivalrous. Chivalry at its best."

It all kicked off when a reporter asked Louis how he'd feel about the Girls Aloud star returning to the show, to which he apparently responded: "Well Simon wouldn't invite Cheryl back because we have Nicole.

"We have Nicole and Sharon, we don't need another girl," he added, before jokingly telling the reporter to "f**k off".

Louis reportedly continued: "No silly questions, seriously. It's not about Cheryl. Don't be stupid, man."

The One Direction star was clearly not happy with the response, and raged on Twitter: "Congratulations Louis Walsh for setting the worst example on handling media for his band who are about to step into a very hard industry.
