Liam Payne reveals 'brutal' Cheryl slammed his solo music as he releases debut single Strip That Down after confessing he WON'T marry Girls Aloud singer
The singer has been working on his debut solo album for the past few months, and admitted his girlfriend Cheryl offered very constructive criticism.
Speaking about his new music, the 23 year old confessed the Girls Aloud star didn't hold back when it came to offering her opinions.
Liam admitted: "If I show her something half finished, she's like, 'No, I don't like it.' She's open and honest, and she's brutal."
Going into more detail, Harry Styles' bandmate continued on Radio 1: "There's a song on the album that she knows I've written, she's just like, 'No, I hate it. It's crap.'
"There was a little bit of me that died inside when she said it. I'm kidding. She has to be honest with me! I wouldn't want her to feed me any 'nonsense'."
Liam's comments come after he admitted he wasn't planning on popping the question to the 33 year old, despite referring to her as his "Mrs".
Just a few days after referring to her as his "wife" the One Direction star admitted: "I see marriage as more of a religious thing and I'm not really a religious person, so I know it's not really on the cards for me at the moment."
However, he confessed his love for her is "serious" and so surpasses any need for a marriage certificate.
"So no not yet," he added to The Sun. "We have a baby together – you know our love for each other can't be more serious so it is what it is I guess."
While promoting his debut solo single, Strip That Down, Liam opened up on the solo efforts of his One Direction bandmates – and slammed Harry Styles' new sound.
