Coleen Rooney shares emotional tribute to Manchester United as husband Wayne completes transfer to boyhood football club Everton
And wife Coleen Rooney has shared an emotional goodbye to the city they called home for the last 13 years.
Taking to Twitter, the mum of three thanked Man U for their help, following news of the 31 year old’s transfer.
"The time has come to leave @ManUtd… 13 great years at the club!! Thank you all for making our family so welcome and treating us so well," she told her 1.24million followers.
"Many great memories, trophies won and friends made!! You have played a massive part of our lives which we will always remember. Thank you x.
"Time for an new adventure at @Everton… Where it all started!! Wishing Wayne lots of luck and most of all happiness at the club."
And fans were quick to thank the businesswoman for the time she had spent in the city with her family.
"Thank u to u and of course Wayne. We'll never forget him. Lost count of times he caused me to cry with joy. All the best #FarewellToALegend, (sic)" one replied.
Another said: "So glad you guys are going home! Rooney will sparkle next season! Thank you for everything and best of luck!"
"Wishing you and your lovely family all the best for the future, you will all be welcome back at OT Wayne will always be a #MUFC #legend," a third commented.
While a fourth simply added: "Welcome home Coleen".
