Lucy Mecklenburgh FORGIVES ex fiance Mario Falcone for slamming their engagement as 'fake' and praises his wife-to-be Becky Miesner
The TOWIE favourites were previously engaged, but called time on their romance back in 2012, after two years together.
Speaking exclusively to OK! Magazine when he proposed to Becky Miesner, 29 year old Mario opened up about his previous proposal to Lucy, and was very honest about the differences in the two romances.
"This engagement is real – the other one wasn’t real," he explained. "It was on national TV and planned. This one is the One.
"I love this girl and I want to spend the rest of my life with her."
And Lucy has now spoken out on Mario's surprising comments, insisting that she didn't take offence.
Speaking to Fabulous Magazine, Lucy said: "I kind of understand what he means.
"We were really young, we were on a TV show and in love and it may have felt like the right thing to do then within that bubble.
"I think Mario and Becky really suit. He's made it quite public that he wants a family, and I'm really happy for him."
Mario and Becky have been dating for around a year, but have known each other almost a decade.
The lovebirds have already discussed starting a family together.
