Connecticut man skips job interview to save car crash victim, uses his dress shirt to stop the bleeding

A Connecticut man used the shirt off his back to stop a car crash victim from bleeding, CBS reported.

Tucker ran to the car, which was spewing smoke, and saw a man covered in blood. As the car started to catch fire, he pulled the man from the vehicle, CBS reported.

People from a nearby car shop used fire extinguishers to put out the fire, and Tucker used a dress shirt he was given at the halfway house where he was stayingto keep the man's head from bleeding, Westport Now reported.

The man was taken to Norwalk Hospital and in stable condition Wednesday, CBS reported.

Tucker told Westport Now he served 22-months for a weapons related charge and is currently living in a halfway house. According to CBS, he finished his GED in prison and became a tutor, all in an attempt to better himself.

The 32-year-old has a 21-month-old son and said he is looking for any job that will help him provide for his son and his child's mother.

Im determined to change my life, he said.

Since Tucker's heroic deeds have come to light, job offers have flooded in, and a GoFundMe account has raised over $50,000 for Tucker and his family.

"I've been given a lot of job offers," Tucker told CBS. "Right now, I don't have the money, so I want to get the best job I can to support my son."
